BJ "the Prodigy " Penn comes to Kombat Arts for an informative seminar: December 9-10, 2006

UFC Veteran BJ Penn and his brother Reagan came by the Kombat Arts Training Academy to hold a weekend seminar and over 100 different people showed up to take part. Pound 4 Pound sponsored the event and gave every seminar particpant a free rashguard!

Day 1 BJ taught a defensive and offensive series from guard that included escaping guard, the situp sweep, the armbar and the triangle. He then taught his favourite striking to takedown transitions and how to take the back. After the break, BJ showed some of his unique guard passes and attacks from the top position.

Day 2 BJ ran a lot of his striking and takedown drills. Some good rolling preceeded the break. After the break BJ showed some slick entries and finishes to the kimura as well as how to bait attacks when the opponent is escaping side control. The day ended with lots of rolling and BJ running a gauntlet with many of the seminar attendees.

We hope to bring down BJ again soon! A very big thank you to Pound 4 Pound, Shyam Tanna and Hector Perez for all their help in setting this seminar up.
