Gil goes to Cali to face Abu Dhabi Absolute Champion Dean Lister: June 24, 2005 - San Diego, CA

Gil had the opportunity to train with grappling wizard Dean Lister during his recent visit to California. Dean Lister is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blackbelt who is well known for his leglocks and aggressive style. He currently fights for the Pride Fighting organization in Japan and continues to compete in prestigious grappling events such as the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) tournament.

Here are some of his achievements:

• Pride Fighting Championship Veteran
• Former Middleweight Champion of the World (King of the Cage)
• Two-Time National Sambo Champion
• Four-Time Machado National Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champion
• National Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Champion
• 2003 ADCC Absolute Champion and 2005 ADCC Superfight Champion
• Career Record 60 wins, 8 losses, 47 wins by way of submission

Gil trained with Dean for close to 2 hours and thought it was finally time to put 'the Boogeyman' to the test. How good is he really?

Ah man this guy looks heavy!!!	Just turn over and...oh wait...	Ouch that actually looks like it's going hurt
Where did this all go wrong!?	"Mr. Lister, I am sorry for gloating earlier!"	Ah well, might as well smile before tapping!

Nice try Gil. Perhaps you should gain another 100lbs, go to class more, train harder and take more privates with Mark and then try your luck next time ;p.
