Kombat Arts hosts successful boxing show

On May 12 we hosted Mayhem in May, a boxing show that consisted of 14 bouts. The place was packed with fans and supporters. Participating clubs came from all over, including Waterloo, Brampton, Kitchener and Niagara Falls. The Kombat A Boxing Team did very well winning 4 bouts out of 5!

  • Lisette Gonzales opened up the night's events with a good match, but unfortunately lost the decision in her bout.
  • Jackie Jachna came out pressing the action to win her bout by unanimous decision.
  • Lexton Bates delivered some precise hard shots on his bout to effectively win his match by stoppage in the 1st round!
  • Stephen Zea at the age of 17 dropped his Senior opponent early in the 1st round and proceeded to chop at his opponent with punches, however his opponent was more than game and would not be put down easily. Zea was proving to be too much and won the bout via decision and earned one of the awards for the Fight of the Night.
  • Mohammed Abedeen fought an exciting fight against a difficult lanky southpaw. Mo demonstrated great footwork, good clinch skills and after picking his opponent apart and landing some hard body shots, Mo stopped his opponent in the 2nd round and also winning an award for the Fight of the Night.

Thanks goes out to all of the supporting gyms, their coaches, the many supporters, our financial contributors, our athletes and coaches and finally the Kombat family for helping make this a great event!
